The Filipino Artists Association & Stockholm Culture Night

Arts, Poetry and Sweets by The Filipino Artists Association of Sweden during Stockholm Culture Night

The vibrant streets of Stockholm came alive on the 20th of April 2024 as the Filipino Artists Association (FAAS) of Sweden proudly presented “Arts, Poetry and Sweets” during Stockholm Culture Night (Kulturnatt). This unique event was nestled within the confines of the pop up art gallery Made by Gallery which is managed by the artist Maria Westerberg. Arts enthusiasts were transported into realms where creativity, literature, and gastronomy intertwined seamlessly.

The exhibit featured the eclectic and talented ensemble of Aya Askert, Elizabeth, Helen Svendgaard, Joel Bagon, Marj Assow, and Ledda Peña Wallin. From beautiful visual arts to heartfelt poetry, each piece offered a glimpse into the diverse tapestry of Filipino culture and artistic expression. The event did not fail to deliver an evening of fun and cultural artistic immersion.

The exhibit kicked off with a vernissage inaugurated by the Ambassador of the Philippines in Sweden, the Honorable Maria Isleta Lumen. As the night progressed, workshops in watercolor painting, poetry writing, and art therapy provided hands-on experiences for those eager to explore their own creative potential.

Established in 2018, Filipino Artists Association of Sweden (FAAS), a nonprofit organization, has served as a platform for artists with Filipino roots based in Sweden to showcase their art.

Certain aspects of the event were sponsored by Westersart and Megaworld.

All materials in the watercolor workshop were sponsored by Westerart, an online shop that sells tested high quality art materials with its physical shop in Jönköping.
