National Day of Egypt 2026 / اليوم الوطني المصري. Her Excellency Mrs. Naglaa Naguib, Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to the Kingdom of Sweden and the Republic of Latvia, had the pleasure of extending this formal invitation to celebrate the National Day of Egypt 2026.

The celebration was held at the House of Egypt in Stockholm on Wednesday, 29 July 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. This special occasion was bringing together distinguished guests from the diplomatic corps, government institutions, the business community, cultural organizations, media representatives, and friends of Egypt.

The reception was celebrating Egypt’s rich history, vibrant culture, and the strong and longstanding relations between Egypt, Sweden, and Latvia. Egypt celebrated its National Day at the beautiful House of Egypt, the official residence of the Embassy of Egypt in Djursholm. Her Excellency Ambassador Naglaa Naguib, Egypt’s first female Ambassador to the Kingdom of Sweden, warmly welcomed distinguished guests from the diplomatic corps, Swedish authorities, and invited friends of Egypt.

The celebration featured beautiful performances by choirs from the Coptic Church, while Egyptian Scouts from Södertälje demonstrated the importance of youth engagement and the Scout movement in fostering friendship, unity, and a brighter future for young people around the world.

Among the distinguished guests were Anders Hall, State Secretary to the Minister for Migration Johan Forssell, and Olle Burell, Chairman of the Stockholm Municipal Executive Board, both of whom delivered inspiring speeches. They attended the celebration together with Emilia Bjuggren, a candidate for the position of Stockholm’s next Finance Mayor this autumn.

The evening also offered opportunities to meet members of the diplomatic community and other distinguished guests, including many Ambassadors of the Diplomatic corps. It was an elegant and memorable evening celebrating friendship, culture, and the strong relations between Egypt and Sweden. Traditional Egyptian Koshary food among other dishes and drinks were served during the evening. UNESCO adds Egypt’s national dish Koshary to intangible cultural heritage list.

Revolution Day refers to the public holiday in Egypt on 23 July, the anniversary of the Egyptian Revolution of 1952 which led to the declaration of the modern republic of Egypt, ending the period of the Kingdom of Egypt. This year marks the 87th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between Sweden and Egypt. See Cawa Media’s photos from  July 29, 2026 below…
