IWC – International Women club 65 Gala

Cawa Media attended the charity gala hosted by (International Women club – IWC), held at on March 14, 2026. The evening marked a remarkable celebration of the club’s 65 years of philanthropic work and international engagement in Stockholm.

The gala dinner aimed to raise funds for, a Swedish foundation that supports children who are waiting for, or have undergone, organ transplants. Supporting women and children in need remains one of the three core pillars of the International Women’s Club of Stockholm, and this year’s anniversary celebrations highlighted that commitment in a meaningful and impactful way.

Guests included members of IWC as well as invited representatives from several sister clubs, creating an international and welcoming atmosphere. The evening at Berns combined philanthropy with celebration, bringing together supporters, partners, and members of the international community in Stockholm.

The charity gala formed part of a larger anniversary program organized by IWC over the weekend of March 13–15, 2026. The program included a series of events and gatherings designed to celebrate the club’s long-standing contribution to charitable initiatives, cultural exchange, and community engagement in the Swedish capital.

Cawa Media covered the event as part of its ongoing reportage on international organizations, charity initiatives, and diplomatic and social events taking place in Stockholm. Thank you note, made onscreen among many others donaters, spoken by Knut Knutson for IWC.

Founded in 1961
Patron: H.R.H. Princess Lilian, Duchess of Halland

In 1961, our founding member, Sissi Rasmussen, and nine other young wives and mothers new to Sweden met through school and social circles and became friends. They realized that they all faced the same challenges in living abroad. They wanted to share their experiences, learn from each other and most of all meet and make friends during the shorter or longer time they lived in Stockholm. This is how the International Women’s Club of Stockholm was born.

Word spread quickly and the club rapidly grew into a unique international society with regular lunches featuring prominent speakers or performances. Introduction to Swedish culture was established through these lunches, coffee mornings, afternoon teas and visits to art exhibitions. The same applies still today. Over the years the other important aspect of the club, philanthropy, grew in importance.
