Altewai.Saome is a new Swedish designer brand created by Natalia Altewai and Randa Saome.
Both have a background in the Italian fashion industry, having worked for Etro and a well-known embroidery company.
The collection was presented at the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in Stockholm Jan 31 to Feb 2, 2011
They were inspired to create their F/W 2011 collection when an electronic device fell and broke in their studio, and they looked underneath to see all the cables and connections.
“That gave us the idea to look beneath the surface of modern technology. We constructed a straight silhouette with embroideries, details and accessories referring to the inner life of technical devices. Our use of contrasting materials such as neoprene, wool and silk organza completes the concept.”
