The Association of Diplomats Stockholm (ADS), established in 1999, is a non-profit, non-political, and non-religious organisation that brings together foreign diplomats accredited to Sweden. With its headquarters in Stockholm, ADS provides a trusted platform to foster dialogue, build networks, and strengthen relations between the diplomatic corps, Swedish authorities, and Swedish society at large.

From its inception, ADS has sought to create an environment in which diplomats can meet and engage outside formal protocols, thereby encouraging a stronger sense of community and collaboration. Over the years, the association has grown into an important pillar of the diplomatic landscape in Sweden, facilitating meaningful exchanges of ideas, perspectives, and experiences among its members.

One of the key traditions of ADS is the Welcome Reception, an annual gathering designed to greet newly arrived diplomats and formally introduce them to their colleagues and counterparts in Stockholm. This event has developed into a cornerstone of the diplomatic calendar, bringing together diplomats, Swedish officials, and representatives of civil society in an atmosphere of mutual respect and cooperation.

The mission of ADS is twofold: first, to promote personal and professional contacts among its members, within the wider diplomatic community in Stockholm, and with Swedish institutions; and second, to serve as a forum for raising and addressing matters of common interest or concern to the diplomatic corps.

In pursuit of this mission, ADS shall:

1. Organise relevant events, either independently or in cooperation with partner organisations, to strengthen dialogue and cultural exchange.
2. Provide a neutral platform for discussion, where issues of importance to the diplomatic community can be highlighted and communicated to the appropriate authorities or stakeholders.

The Board of Directors, together with the Permanent Secretary, is entrusted with setting the strategic direction of the association and overseeing its day-to-day operations. The Board ensures that ADS continues to serve as a vital link between the international diplomatic community and Swedish society, while upholding the principles of neutrality, inclusivity, and professionalism.colleagues, Swedish officials, and representatives of civil society. The Association of Diplomats Stockholm (ADS) is as a non-profit, non-political and non-religious organisation of foreign Diplomats accredited to Sweden and with office in Stockholm. The organisation was formally established 26 years ago with the goal of bringing foreign Diplomats together under the umbrella of the organisation and outside formal protocols. The primary objective of the ADS is the promotion of contacts among its Members, the Diplomatic community in Stockholm and with Swedish Authorities and Society in general, secondly to act as a forum for matters of concern to the Diplomatic community in Stockholm in general.
