It is with great joy that the International Women’s Club Stockholm invited us to attend the November luncheon with selected speakers, Ms Kasia Syty, film critic and formerly Artistic Director, the Bergman Week. Guests: H.E. Grace Alfred Olotu – Ambassador of the United Republic of Tanzania to the Nordic Countries, Baltic States & Ukraine, Mrs. Ave Brigader-Tezel Turkiets ambassadris, IWC President Ann-Louice Dahlgren.

Ms. Kasia Syty, a film critic and formerly Artistic Director, at Bergman Week, Fårö. Polish by birth and upbringing, she is an international woman who, with her passion for cinema and her great knowledge of the work of the Swedish director Ingmar Bergman, has made Sweden her home.

Today, she is considered one of the country’s top film critics, and her work is published weekly in Swedish newspapers. She has worked at the Polish Institute, is a board member of Folkets Bio and, for the past three years, has held the position of Artistic Director of the world-renowned Bergman Week on the island of Fårö. A festival that celebrates Swedish film heritage and that every year welcomes award-winning directors and actors like Ang Lee, Wim Wenders, Kenneth Branagh, Margarethe von Trotta, Yorgos Lanthimos, Liv Ullman, Harriet Andersson, Tim Roth etc. to whom Ingmar Bergman has been a great source of inspiration in their artistic careers.

Kasia guided us into the work and life of Ingmar Bergman, one of the world’s most influential and respected directors and scriptwriters of all time.
