On 6th February this year Her Majesty The Queen became the first British Monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee, marking 70 years of service to the people of the United Kingdom, the Realms and the Commonwealth. To celebrate this unprecedented anniversary, events and initiatives will take place throughout the year 2022, culminating in a four day UK bank holiday weekend from Thursday 2nd to Sunday 5th June. 

This year, Queen Elizabeth II also celebrated her 96th birthday on Saturday, June 11, 2022 with a party fit for a queen! On her official birthday, Her Majesty is joined by other members of the Royal Family with a public appearance on the balcony of Buckingham Palace.

The general public also watch a spectacular ”Trooping the Colour” parade which moves between Buckingham Palace, The Mall and Horseguards’ Parade. And, this year, the celebration is all preceded by The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee  — marking the Queen’s 70 years of service having acceded to the throne in 1952 when Her Majesty was 25 years old.
